Ramesh Gaonkar is professor of Electrical Engineering Technology at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. He is also responsible for the development of the Computer Technology Program, STIP-Skills Improvement Program and Apprentice Program and is the author of several books. Prior to teaching, Mr. Gaonkar was a Design Engineer where he was responsible for Circuit Design. Mr. Gaonkar has received several awards, including the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Creative and Scholarly Activities, the Central NY Technology-Outstanding Teacher Award, and the American Society for Engineering Education Outstanding Teacher Award. He is a member of several professional organizations serving in leadership capacities. Only reason I bought this book was because it was the required text for the class. None of the questions have answers in the back and the software is only good for 30 uses. In my opinion, the purchase of the book should come with an extended or full software license. Absolutely ridiculous to have spend additional money after the initial trial!!

So glad I only rented this book. My professor has found at least 2 coding errors per chapter. Apparently, the editors of this book were out to lunch for the entire thing. The code, verbatim from the book, does not work in MPLABS. That was super helpful when trying to learn it. Great job, guys.

It is an excellent book.It is very easy to read and comprehensive.I like it, I recommend this book.

Gaonkar gives you a very detailed education in programming embedded systems. You learn that a microcontroller is really just a special type of computer, where you deal directly with the von Neumann architecture. The specific choice of hardware is the PIC18. Of course, by the end of the book, you should be fluent in writing assembler for it. But, more generally, the skills can be readily transferred to most other types of microprocessors currently on the market. Plus many that do not yet exist. The Neumann design is unlikely to be supplanted. It has existed for over 60 years, being successfully instantiated in succeeding generations of hardware.The book has many questions and assignments for each chapter. Along with a simulator for the PIC18 and exercises that involve programming for it. Realistically, many hours will be needed to tackle these problems. Which makes it well suited to accompany an undergraduate course.

This is a good introduction for a complete novice attempting to grow common succulent plants in an apartment or house with bright light from south, west or east windows. This is largely an alphabetical list of cacti and succulent genera likely to be found at many garden shops or nurseries with specific advice on each genera's culture. There is a one page bibliography and a list of websites for more information as well as an index. Each plant is illustrated in a color photograph showing the plant growing in a suitable pot. One criticism is a lack of plants in flower, as flowering plants would make readers more interested in cacti, particularly.

I absolutely LOVE my Prick book. The cover, with the beautiful array of cacti and hilarious title would have been enough on it own but as I've read through it, it only gets better. The content is really thought through and well rounded. As a scientist, I loved the botany and as someone who has historically killed all her cacti, the tips are really helpful as she makes it so simple. Aside from that, the book is beautiful and I'm proud to have it on my shelf. Beautiful photography and wonderfully put together. I also liked how it gave us a peek into the homes of people with great taste and a love of cacti. This will be a perfect Christmas gift for all my plant loving friends. I must also add that Gynelle herself is an incredible inspiration, as a fellow woman, millennial and person of colour. I love her story, vision and passion.

Fantastic book for any cacti and succulent lover! The writer is a great photographer and very knowledgeable on the plants presented in the book. So glad I bought it!

There are a number of books available on this topic but I have found that Social Media Marketing may be the best! I have used this book as the text for teaching a social media marketing course at a major university on three occasions. This is a great read, full of examples and information that is valuable to the reader (in my case, students) who are eager to learn more about how marketers can leverage and benefit from using social media. In particular, there is a solid outline on how to create a social media marketing plan. Again, very valuable and this template may be applied from small to mid-size businesses to an enterprise. Students have made very positive comments on Social Media Marketing 2nd edition, and found it to be very useful in developing social media marketing plans. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who needs to learn how to leverage social media.

The books (I bought two) are in fine condition and it better shape than I thought they would be. The seller was very honest. I did not spend a lot of money on this purchase, but honestly was not happy the they were held up in the warehouse for over week on it's way to me. We needed our textbooks for class and wanted to get a jump on it. That is not the fault of the seller. The book itself is very interesting and I am learning a lot about social media. I enjoy the Dark Side of Media sections, which draw light on the scary side. It is an interesting look into the digital age we live in.

If you are a social media novice, this is a great educator to how and why it works in your favor. If I had more time, I would read it outside of the bare minimal that I need to complete assignments in my online Social Media Marketing course. The chapters are brief and it is lightweight. If you are short on time and you are allowed open book tests, the end of chapter summaries are a great overview of the chapter without having to read each chapter in entirety.

Using for MBA course, it's alright, but it reads as if social media is the holy grail and there no other as effective ways of marketing.Then again, the title is specific so I'd say it is good if you want to solely concentrate on social media, but there are other methods ofmarketing. It also doesn't explain the how to or practical methods of marketing on social media, but merely promotes the usage.

Interesting book, I originally bought it because I needed it for a class. Learning a lot from it. My only complaint would be how it looks like on kindle, and there's been numerous times where I've caught typos. Talking about social media marketing, which of course involves e-books, etc. and they can't even proofread or optimize the book so that it looks great on kindle? Haha.

I actually didn't read much of this book because it was redundant to what I already knew. This might be a great resource for an older demographic that doesn't know too much about social marketing.

This textbook is not nearly as bad as the dozens of others that I have had to use in the past. Rather than just throwing information out at you in a dull, linear fashion it ties the material together with pop culture examples to help connect the what we're learning to the real world. Even the info itself is written in a more natural and fun way than the standard textbook. I'm only giving it 4 stars because at the end of the day it's still a textbook, so it's in my blood to have some sort of dislike for it.

I needed this book for a class, but it is more than just a text book. It is clearly written and a very good reference, the only thing I find wrong is that social media changes so quickly and some of the references are out of date.

As such, my doctor ordered an A1C test and sure enough, I was in the diabetic range. I bought or checked out a bunch of books to get educated quickly and this book (first checked out at library to see if it was right for me) has been my bible of late. More than anything, it is giving me tools to manage and recipes to try that I'll probably like and can actually cook. Some books on diabetes are more detailed and it may be the colorfulness of this book that makes it attractive to me, but regardless, this is one that I carry around with me for ideas and inspiration. I love it.

I am not the type that buys a recipe book . This book has a beautiful layout in a spiral format. I bought this book because the last doctor said I was border line pre-diabetic with that information I do what I always do , I run to Amazon.com and go to the books. Even if you don't have pre-diabetes or whatever the book is full of healthy recipes and beautiful pictures . What it contains in the book starts out with breakfast, beverages, food portions, whole grains and fruits and vegetables ( the norm ) etc. How to cook better, how to flavor your food and how to make a meal plan. There are topics on the numbers you should know and how to mange and set goals to be a better and a happier you.

this is a great book to help you eat healthy even if you are not diabetic. The recipes are easy and make great healthy dishes. I would recommend this book to anyone who is diabetic or trying to avoid becoming Type II diabetic.

This book has had some great recipes and helpful advice. We are just starting down the road of high blood sugar and it had some good information. I wish it was a little more in depth but it is mainly a cookbook so I will just order another book for more in depth research about lowering blood sugar. I would recommend this book for anyone recently diagnosed with Diabetes.

It's hard for me to eat healthy without making two completely separate meals as my husband basically only eats fried food and oreos. This cookbook had recipes even my husband will eat, which makes my life so much easier. I love this book for that alone, but I also appreciate all the tips and tricks it provides to help my stick to my new lifestyle, and having it lay flat while I cook is wonderful. It's worth a few extra bucks for the spiral binding. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is struggling to transition into a healthy lifestyle, it will make the process easier.

My husband's latest blood work showed elevated blood sugar not too far from a diabetic level. I was able to learn about several aspects of Catholicism such as why Catholics adore the Virgin Mary (and not worship her). It also takes some time to debunk some myths about Catholicism that have developed and have caused confusion. Overall, there is much to be learned in this book for those that know little about Catholicism.There is one issue I had with this book. While reading it I felt it generally assumed that one was already familiar with Christianity in general. If you do not know about the story of Adam and Eve or the life of Jesus, you are probably going to be lost while reading this. It mainly seems targeted to those who are Protestant and are curious about Catholicism or perhaps those that were raised Catholic but fell out later in life.Overall though, I thought this was a good book to learn about some of the major tenets of Catholicism. I would recommend it to those who want to learn about it.

Even though I went through the RCIA program I still had some questions about why Catholics did certain things. I also bought it because I wanted a simple book with some of the prayers that are said, that my husband (a cradle Catholic) is unable to repeat unless he's in that setting. This is just a very nice book that easily lays out all of the Why's and How's of Catholicism in an easy-to-read manner. I would recommend it for all Catholics or those who are just curious about Catholicsm in general.

Very easy to read. I bought this for a project on Catholicism and I liked it better than other books I used. It really addresses almost everything you need to know. It also seems un-biased, but rather is just trying to explain the religion and provide information. I did not read the whole thing, but took certain parts for my project.

My purchases on Amazon have been amazing lately. This book was no exception. I am a new Catholic and have a million questions. RCIA is great but doesn't answer a lot.This book does. I haven't read it all but am using it as a reference. It is clearly written and seems to cover everything I need to know...so far. I bet I know more already than most cradle Catholics. I highly recommend this book if you want to know the truth about Catholicism.

Clinical Hematology Atlas 5th edition by Rodak is an excellent atlas for hematologists, hematopathologists and hematology lab technicians. It has amazing images of most hematological problems including anemias and malignancies. To my mind, it is the best Atlas of hematology in the market and has helped me enormously at the hematology lab. However, for experts in hematology, I strongly suggest to Dr. Rodak to include images of rarer diseases such as the morulae on anaplasmosis, babesia, etc.

This atlas doesn’t benefit from the most recent WHO classifications, but that’s not a problem since it doesn’t go into that much detail. I like the introduction, organization, schematic drawings and maturation sequences, those few electron micrographs, high quality pictures , disease associations, useful tables, it’s glossary and it also has a chapter on body fluids.Cons: It doesn’t cover some of the abnormalities and disorders. A part of that plastic spiral bound broke on the first day of carrying it in a back pack!

This is my best friend for Hematology. It has awesome microscopic slide pictures to help you learn what each type of cell looks like, and good illustrations for cell maturation lines. You don't even need the matching textbook really! Very good, highly recommend.

The book is full of encouragement for those that have Meniere's symptoms. It has been very helpful to me. Every patient may have a different response to diet, exercise and other therapies....but I would say it is worth reading the book and trying the suggestions the author proposes. I am in the process of following everything regarding diet, exercise and anxiety therapy and it seems to improve the symptoms (so far...only 4 weeks on the trial). But I would love to report in 12 months from now. In any case, my attitude has changed and now I am willing to do better.

This was a great purchase! It has really helped my husband. There is no cure for Meniere's, but this book has helped my husband [and me] realize he can live and live well with the disease. His attitude about himself and his responsibility to take control of his life has become such a positive thing that I believe he is healthier and happier than he has been in a long time. There is no magic here...just good common sense with inspirational words that stick with him and guidelines for living a good life with a rough disease. Thank you, Meniere Man.

The holistic approach suggested in this self-help book for Meniere's Disease gave me some tools I could use to assist me with symptoms which was more than my doctor offered me. I loved the positive suggestions. They made sense and the majority can be fitted into one's lifestyle regardless of financial status. Finally, some sound practical advice from someone who understands the condition.

I bought this hoping for some concrete help on dealing with menieres disease symptoms but that's not what this book is for. The author discusses his mental strategies for dealing, but not the physical elements of the disease. Instead of tips for avoiding dizzy spells it's more a motivational self - help book for staying positive in light of this crummy disease. If you need some positive affirmation that it's not as bad as you think this is the way to go . Very casual writing style and easy to finish in one long sitting.

My mother has Meniere's - diagnosed about 3 years ago. We've been to numerous doctor's, gone through job loss, financial hardships and soul searching. This book literally outlined much of what my mother and our family have experienced. It is helpful, uplifting and reminds Meniere's survivors to take back their lives. Many of the recommendations are very useful and I think helpful tools to maintain a sense of normalcy and support when Meniere's attacks present themselves. My mother has been reading the book over the weekend and really likes it. Recommend this book.

I was just diagnosed woth meniere's. I picked up the book in hopes of just figuring out the diet. What i didnt anticipate was that it was going to also explain things about myself i have never been able to understand about myself. Ob looking back through my life tgus far, i really now know tgat ive been suffering with this disease for a very long time.

Nice enough book, but I do not find it mentally satisfying to read about that which I can so identify with - it just depresses me. I guess I'm not a "help group" sort of person, but this does not mean it will not help some. For me, just too real.

A very short book without much scientific info, but lots of techniques and thoughts on how to cope with Menieres. A good book to give to family members so they can understand your condition and better help you recover from attacks.
