This book is essentially all of the information that Mark Gungor puts in his "Tale of Two Brains" event (and if you are considering this book, and haven't seen Gungor's 'Tale of Two Brains', hie thee to YouTube *right now*, and watch it (be sure to watch the full 2-hour one, even if you have to watch it in pieces). Note that even though this is real, and excellent, relationship stuff, YouTube lists it under 'Comedy', and there's a reason - because it is *very* funny, while still giving really useful information for both people in the relationship (watch it with your spouse or significant other - I promise you'll both like it and be glad that you did!)Ladies: a special bonus - the video is worth watching, and the book worth reading, if for no other reason that it *finally* explains in a way that we women can understand, what he means when you ask him what he's thinking about and he says "nothing". Worth the price right there, don't you think?!Gents: a special bonus - the video is worth watching, and the book worth reading, if for no other reason that it *finally* explains in a way that women can understand, what you mean when you tell us that you are thinking about nothing. I like it. Though I would say that women probably won't. Like a Dr. Laura book, this book's central theme is that women need to be more understanding that men aren't women. Not that men are perfect, and certainly need to improve, but ladies, take it easy on your guy! As a divorced guy, it is enough to give up hope on finding an understanding and easygoing woman...
Reading this book feels like you are having a conversation with a good friend. Aside from being presented in a very humorous way, the material is informative, interesting, and explains a lot about the relationship problems that are so common in marriage. This really helped me understand my husband. What I thought he was doing just to make me crazy, I now see is just the result of how men are wired. I learned a lot about myself, too! Women really are from Venus, and men are from Mars! Great book! Every newly-wed should read it!
Shipped on time and arrived brand new and perfect condition. I have seen his dvd, "Laugh your way to a better marriage" some years ago but his words have stuck with me. I got this book for myself and I am happy I did. Mark Gungor amazes me!! I enjoy reading his work and watching his dvd.
What a fabulous book on marriage! Really and truly. I bought the paperback to give to my husband. It is a fun and easy to read, on point book. He touches the very core of nearly every part of the puzzle of marriage. He is funny. My husband is not a reader, but I think he will make his way through this one without much trouble. I would really love to do one of his seminars! I already have recommended it to everyone! There are just so many aspects of such an intimate relationship and no matter how good it is, it can be better, deeper and more fulfilling.
I am not married but have been looking for a useful resource material that is simple and practical (as opposed to theoretical) to give me an accurate picture of what it's really like to be married. Gungor's book is exactly what I needed. I do not hesitate to recommend this book to all the young single men and women (especially those who have never been married) and who really desire to build a strong foundation for marriage in future. I think this is a good book to keep, even after marriage as a reference guide. Infact married couples experiencing marital problems would be best advised to read this book together, it would save hundreds of dolars in marriage counseling fees.
This is an awesome video series. Through this book couples are able to understand their spouse from a outside gender perspective. Also, Mark Gungor touches on lots of spiritual details that most would not consider about marriage. He uses humor to reach people, which to me, is amazing.I would highly recommend this to anyone going through marital crisis or to those looking to be married soon.
