Laying color onto a blank page is when I feel closest to true magic, when I feel happiest and most relaxed, and it's through what I create that I share my love of magic with the world.Through my coloring books I want to share that same magic with you.The artworks in my books are based on my completed paintings, which I have painted over the last ten years as a professional artist. I have created the coloring designs to be intricate and detailed but still fun and accessible. There is something for lovers of meditative detail while simple enough to not be overwhelming for younger colorists.When designing my books I decided to print them with two copies of each design, because I know as an artist there are always so many possibilities! I wanted to give everybody the chance of a do-over with every design. Try a different medium, or a different colour scheme. Or a chance to share the magic with a friend, child, parent, sibling. Because sharing your creativity and joy of color is the best magic of all.

Fun designs.
This is my first coloring book by Selena Fenech which is focused on simple and easy to color designs of young girls in fantasy. The style is very different from that of her adult fantasy girls. The young girls have sweet round faces, tiny shy eyes with a fringe of eyelashes and small little mouths turned up in tiny smiles.The designs cover a nice range of fantasy with mermaids, fairies, witches, dragons, unicorns and more. The designs are fairly simple to color and have open and easy line drawings. These would be great designs for someone with slight fine motor issues and/or visions issues as there is nothing detailed or intricate about them.I also really appreciate that this artist provides you with two copies of each design. That makes it easy to share or to try two different colorways or mediums.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper:25 x 2 Cute Little Girls Fantasy DesignsPrinted one side of the pagePaper is white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforatedDesigns do not merge into the binding and there is plenty of room to cut out pages if you choose to do so. Some designs have a framing line around the outer edgeGlue BindingAlcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. I found that I could layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and I could blend easily using a pencils style blending stick. Both wax and oil based pencils worked well with the paper. Hard lead pencils can leave dents through the page.I like to use a blotter when working in the book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.
Words like adorable, sweet, cute and clever fill my mind as I turn the pages of this soon-to-be gift for my 6-year-old granddaughter. We play many kinds of fairy games and all of these images are appropriate for a child. Also great for making up stories using these images as a starting point.
I don't really think I have to write a review, I mean... We're talking about Selina Fench, and anyone who has bought any of her books knows that all of her work is absolutely stunning and SO VERY FUN to colour!!!! But I will tell you this, this particular book doesn't have much in the way of detail, but you can make your own detail if you've played around with her Greyscale books! It's amazing the things Fench does for us. I enjoy her works so much. So if you want this book, get it! And also take a look at all her others!
I love every picture. The fairies ARE absolutely adorable. I think the paper is pretty standard for this type of coloring book. I use Copic alcohol markers, Gelmushta gel pens (gel pens are best for getting into small spaces), Prismacolor premier or Artlicious colored pencils thirdly, and OCCASIONALLY if I REALLY want to bring out my inner child and it's a big spaced picture, I use Crayola crayons. I haven't had a problem with the markers or gel pens, like one person was saying the paper is horrible. It's nice that we get two of every design, because sometimes I make a mistake, or I have colorer's remorse and think of some other colors I would have used. I think the price is fair, too, for the fact that I consider the extra set of designs a bonus, but not something I would actually pay EXTRA for. I paid $7.75 so for 25 designs, that's reasonable.
I love this book of adorable pictures by Selina Fenech. The fact that she started doing these as drawings for her daughter makes it all the more special. You and your children will love coloring the awesome pictures. I highly recommend this book.

I bought this because I find these type of coloring books to be SO adorable!Plus, it's by such a talented artist, Selina French.I usually don't purchase coloring book without much of samplings for the pages within.However, because of reasons already said.....I caved and added it to an order of coloring books I decided to buy for my niece for Christmas.It has a very soft, satin-ish, type cover. There are 25 very cute and adorable pieces of artwork for you to color. There are 2 sets of each design. Honestly though, I would rather pay a little more for 50 different instead, or maybe 35 to 40 full pages and some smaller repeats (2 a page type) of the simplest pages. That's my one complaint about this book. It's a typical Createspace printed book, meaning somewhat thinner pages. They are all one sided though! Colored pencils and gel pens are fine. Markers will bleed through. I suggest using a piece of thicker card stock or at least 3 or 4 printer papers under the page you are working on. In my experiences in art and coloring, no matter what medium you use, Always put something under it! Even pencils and pens can ruin the pages underneath because they indent the paper as you use them, making it leave the next page harder to color correctly. If possible, I usually take out the page I want to color to avoid this problem. Oh, and this is not a perforated book.This book is exactly what it states on the cover.....Simple and Sweet! I highly recommend as a beginner level book. Or if you're like me and love the cutie type of fantasy that is much easier on the hands and a fun break from all the more complex ones. I still LOVE those though lol.Thank You!
This book is exactly like the title says, Sweet and Simple, nicely drawn, these are very relaxing too color. My granddaughter loves these also she loves too color with me. Definitely would recommend this book for someone who loves simple yet beautiful drawings.
