The authors did a wonderful job outlining the benefits of being proactive and not only planning financially, but most importantly focusing on the relationships and family dynamics that can so easily cost precious time, anxiety and a fortune in legal fees. Sadly, I learned this lesson the hard way and I am committed to making sure the same thing doesn't happen to my children over my estate. The more money that is at stake, the greater the risk of misunderstandings, mistrust and fractured relationships. The lawyers are the only ones who benefit from the lack of clarity regarding the estate plan. I appreciated the wisdom shared by Roy and Amy!
Great gift for anyone who wants to care for the legacy they leave behind for their family no matter how much money they have. There is so much to learn from this book and it frames the professionalism and attention to detail that Amy and Roy have with their work. The examples that are included in the book make it much easier to understand and gave me an understanding of the dangers improper communication and planning can bring to a family. I do not feel as if my family has problems right now but this book will certainly help us avoid any in the future and allow for healthy growth within the family!
