The heroine of this series is a grandma with guts enough to deal with a snake, 2 extremely mischievous grandsons and a murder or two while sparking up a new relationship and hanging out with her friends. This is one busy g’ma!Hope Callaghan writes in a light, humorous style that I found hard to put down. It only took me 2 hours to read “Grandkids Gone Wildâ€. Gloria, the main character, reminds me of women I know from church; the ones that juggle 3x more than everyone else and smile about it while saying yes to babysitting your teething twins â¤ï¸Even tho’ this is a short book, the characters are complete. Their dialogue is fun and it is clean without expletives. There is zero sexual content nor is there any descriptive, offensive violence. G.G.W. is a fun cozy mystery with a few little twists and turns that will keep you entertained for a few hours while you’re catching up with a friend. Enjoy!
Just as Gloria is investigating the possibility of there being someone in her barn her two grandsons, Tyler and Ryan, arrive. What a handful they are! If you are new to this series, this is Book 2. Gloria is a widow with a cat called Puddles and a car named Annabelle. She resides in Belhaven, Michigan.In the first book Gloria made friends with Andrea. Andrea is now thinking of purchasing the Johnson mansion which has been deserted for years. The present owner has sent Andrea the keys and she wants Gloria to go look over the place with her. What happens when they discover a body that turns out to be less than twenty four hours old? Is this just a coincidence? Is there a connection between the murder and Gloria's barn?Some light romance also comes in to this "cozy mystery" that is Christian based and VERY clean. Some parts are a little unbelievable as Gloria puts on her sleuthing hat but it is fiction! This is a delightful, easy read. You are not likely to be kept in suspense with your heart beating fast but you will just enjoy a light read around some great characters. I LOVED this book.
Hope Callaghan restored my faith in her books. I was over disappointed after the end of book one, but decided to get book two to see if any better, let me assure you it was! I got a clue towards the end of book one and could,t understand the ending, but bring on book two my faith restored. Hope keeps you in suspense till the very end where my clue revealed I wasn't,t crazy. Both books are great for a good Christian mystery and suspense story.
Gloria Rutherford was preparing for the visit of her grandsons. She noticed the barn door was a little open she started to investigate hearing some noise. But before she could do anything her daughter arrived with the grandsons. The boys seemed to get into a lot of mischief that Gloria had to stop them. Gloria kept putting off reporting the things going on in the barn. She went with her friend Andrea to check an old mansion the friend was interested in buying. After checking the inside decided they would look around the outside when they found a body in a shed. That is when Gloria gets involved in finding the murderer.
This is my 2nd book that I have read in the Garden Girls Christian Cozy Series and I have thoroughly enjoyed them thus far! It is so refreshing to read something that has enough suspense in it to keep you thinking, but at the same time the writing is not dark, but hopeful. I have also enjoyed the humor that is included through the dialogue and actions of the main character, Gloria. She is a hoot! After reading the first book in the series, I went ahead and purchased the entire set. I just finished reading the 2nd book and I know that I made a great investment for enjoyable reading! I highly recommend this series.
Love the idea of a grandmother being a part time detective. this book made me smile and laugh as the grand kids behaved just like grand kids should; while Grandma put herself in danger time after time to solve a murder. Grandma Gloria was determined to find the killer and nothing would stop her. This is a great read as are all of Hope Callaghan's books.
A sweet cozy mystery. I am hooked on Hope Callaghan's writing. A lovely mix of mystery, a teeny bit of romance, a couple of pets, and of course, the grandkids. A good Christian story with no sex, graphic language or bloody visuals. I like the main character, a senior), with creativity and energy beyond baking cookies for the kids. The only suggestion would be better editing. Several typos and even mixing up character names. I would still recommend this book.
I'm new to this author and this series. What a fun story.Gloria is a sweet character and I enjoyed the story very much.Her grandsons are hysterical and I loved it when she sent them outside to entertain the news people.There are 16 books in this series and I'm looking forward to reading all of them.
